i had a dream last night

I had a dream last night
of someone I used to know...
a dream where I bumped into him
and we started talking again

not that we became
involved
or anything,
just that we re-connected
and could speak once more

I had my kids with me
and he was alone as usual
single or not, I don't know
I didn't matter

but it was such a relief
to know not EVERY failed relationship
has to end in akward silence
that some things can have a
new beginning
and old friendships could be saved

but
it was just a dream
and I can tell you now
it won't ever happen
