as I awakened from the hazy realm
to see my heart with you,
but far away -so far-
I peered within the cavity left behind
-so empty there as I wait to hear
your sweet voice say my name
and tell me you'll take care of
my heart for me-
my heart thuds in your gentle hands
as you ponder what to do;
as I look up with pleading eyes,
only dreaming this could be.
